REFUGE - God is our Refuge and we are a Refuge for others. We are often reminded of God's ability to provide safety and salvation to those who call on His name. The Biblical authors, by inspiration, describe God using words such as a stronghold, a rock, a fortress, a HIGH place, and our Salvation. It is clear from scripture that God is a Refuge to those in danger. The youth group can be called a refuge in the same way that God is called a refuge. God’s Church is made up of God’s people. As heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ we are called to be like him. God has “created man in His own image,”therefore we too, like the Lord, are to be a “refuge and a strong tower against the enemy.”
Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take REFUGE; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
