Weeschool

The weeschool does not follow a set curriculum. The main focus of the toddler classes is helping the children become adjusted to a caregiver other than their parents. The children are given lots of love and lots of playtime. The youngest children may nap. During nice weather, they spend time on the playground practicing their gross motor skills (i.e., walking, running, climbing). In these classes, too, the children are beginning to learn how to relate to peers and teachers. The toddler classes attend music on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The two year old teachers also spend time lovingly helping the children adjust to new adults and new surroundings. In addition, these teachers plan activities around themes of particular interest to this age group (i.e. colors, animals, seasonal topics, and holidays). The two year old classes also attend music on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Playground time is included daily, weather permitting. As children in any class become ready to "use the potty," the teachers will make every effort to help the child acquire skills leading to independence in the bathroom.

We also teach the children simple religious concepts and Christian values based on the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). In addition, these classes have daily playground time, attend music once a week, and chapel every other week.
